A Bit About Me

I'm Pastor Warren Grantham, better known as Pastor Warren G in my online world.

I have always been a bit shy of using the term Reverend and Pastor. These handles carry some awesome responsibilities, most of which I cannot do--of my own strength. As you would expect, I have to lean on my Lord and Savior for the strength.

Until taking on Points Bank full-time, I was the Chief Operating Officer/Deputy Director of a not-for-profit in Orange County (Orlando) Florida.

Prior to that I was the Associate Pastor of Missions and Outreach at First United Methodist Church in Ft. Pierce. Though I was not a Methodist prior to going to Ft. Pierce, I found that being obedient to God's call can land you in some marvelous places. Of course the converse of that happens to be true as well. But where He leads, he does provide.

There are a host of other positions that I have held over the years, including a 14 year stint in the military--okay Air Force. However, the most rewarding of them are the ones where the impact on lives could be seen and appreciated. I taught high school Bible classes. I served as the Executive Director of an Education Foundation and a post-secondary vocational school. Perhaps you are beginning to see a pattern? I enjoy and greatly value education.

And speaking of education, I graduated from what is now Excelsior College, formerly called Regents College and is located in Albany NY. This college is America's first Virtual College. Of course when I started, cassette tapes were cutting edge technoology and the Internet was just getting started.

I earned a Master of Divinity degree from Bethel Theological Seminary, a part of Bethel University in St. Paul Minnesota. My major, if you will, was Pastoral Care.

This whole social networking and social media thing has been around for quite some time. I have been doing this since the early days of the Internet. We used to do webcams and Instant Messaging through Yahoo and MSN networks, long before MySpace and FaceBook were on the scene. Their arrival marked the changing of the guard as they ushered in a new way of thinking about online information. And with the advent of YouTube, camera phones, video on demand, etc., etc., the world began to shrink and it became a very different place.

There is a new world of Possibilities out there right now. I am excited to see what God has in store for all of us as we endeavor to follow Him and do His will in this new endeavor called Points Bank..

I want to close this little piece of "About Me" with the part of life that brings me so much joy--my family. I am married to a very wonderful woman whom God Himself sent my way.

With my wife came a very loving and... ... ...interesting set of inlaws. Life is good.

I have two wonderful children who are grown and living their lives to the full. At Christmas 2009, I was blessed with the greatest gift anyone could have given me at this stage in life: A healthy grandson! Hopefully there will be many more to follow, but for now, I can't wait to spoil the little guy!
